MYcarta handle for a stick tang/ rat tail tang knife - will this work?

I have a stick tang / rat tail tang knife (mora knife blade). I wish to put home made mYcarta handles on it. The tang does not have any holes for pins and I do not want to drill any because its difficult and the tang is narrow.

My idea is to cut small notches in the tang so it looks like a poorly made saw blade. I will then put the blade between 2 wet pieces of fiberglass resin soaked cloth and sandwich them between the mYcarta slabs ive already made. I'll put the whole thing in clamps and let dry.

Will this work in securing the blade inside the mYcarta? My hopes is that the wet fiberglass resin soaked cloth will form around and in the notches I cut to secure the tang.

Other suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks

An easier and stronger way, IMO, would be to make a thicker block of material and then just drill a hole large enough to accept your tang and some good epoxy to secure it.

If you want to use the slabs, cut a channel in the them deep to accept the tang (and allow your slabs to touch) and then use a good epoxy to bond it all together. I'd probably drill a few holes in the slabs and fit through pins on both sides of the tang (top and bottom) to add strength.
