That, sir, appears to be a sin. Don't you know Snakeskin is in short supply???? Oh the humanity!

(No. I've never tried to sharpen micarta or G10.)

I have done a few G-10 and carbon fiber "knives" but never had a shot with mycarta. they dont take an edge as such but you can get a functional point on them.

Thats pretty cool looking I have made knives out of plastic before, however I have never played with G-10 it looks interesting.

That's some sweet looking micarta !! I wouldn't worry about running out of snakeskin or any other micarta.. ;)

Nice looking mycarta. I did some red/black ones that I want to try out soon. I use to have a knife made of G10. I probably still have it somewhere around the house. It can't cut for darn and is probably only useful as a stabbing instrument of some sort. It is cool and all but really worthless as a working knife.

I didn't know it was that simple to make your own micarta. Go figure!

Cool pix of what this guy did. WOW

I just found a link on another thread that shows you step by step how to make your own micarta in your garage with no power tools or anything (ie no hydralic press, only clamps). I have some green canvas scraps sitting in my garage for when I get some down time to try this at home.
