Hey everyone! I am currently trying to make my first MYcarta handle for a camping knife blank I have, I was just wondering how many layers of jean denim I should cut to have a usable thickness for the handle scales.(currenlty I have 18 layers)

Thanks
Quinn

Hi Quinn, just decide how thick you want the scales, and keep laying until you reach that thickness. 1/4" scales are good. 3/8" are pretty thick, but maybe good depending on your knife, if you coke bottle them and taper the front. Any thicker than that would be overkill in my opinion.

thanks for the reply David, is coke bottled bigger at the front of the back? (to be honest this is only my second knife handle so I don't know much)
