  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

would mylar be suitable as a mask? either blasting or etching?
I just got 2 rolls, one brown, one semi-transparent, for free..
I'm not talking 50' either, these are HUGE...
I can think of a million uses related to art, but does it have any uses in knife making?

If you can see thru it, Mylar is great for covering the glass on the inside of a bead blast cabinet. Keeps the glass from frosting over.

I was thinking about using it for spacer material sometime too, you can fuse it together pretty easily so it might be cool.
if anyone has a need for this stuff drop me a line, I have more than I'll ever be able to use, even for art junk.

When you said mask were you thinking of something like a stencil to mark the blade with? It would probably work pretty well for bead blasting, but I think in an etch you need something thats bonded to the blade a little better so the acid can't seep underneath it.
