Does anyone have a Myrtle yet ? Tell us about it. Go into a much detail as you can.....How do you like the blade shape ?

I wish the knife wasn't quite as hd as it is. I rather have a thinner blade 2.5 -3 and a smaller clip. No I haven't held 1 yet.

With a 4.0 blade the knife has to be a lot more of a cutter than a slicer, like the Southard with about the same thickness in the blade.

I'm waiting on info in this one too. Nothing on YouTube yet. I specifically want to know if the clip hole pattern is the standard 3 hole pattern. That clip has got to go! Other than that, I'm in.

Since it just hit dealer shelves last week I would say that not too many people have one yet. I fondled one at the SFO on Tuesday last week. It is a beast. It has a thick blade and a thick lock. I liked it and the fit and finish was great. It seemed like a hard working knife with some style. I don't know if the clips are the same, sorry.

I do not own one but I've been thinking of pulling the trigger soon.

I like the unique blade shape. Nice thick S30V blade , Ti frame lock with marbled CF. I'm all about it.

There's someone on YouTube with one:

That was hard hard hard hard hard hard to watch. lol
I'm so glad that Mrytle can cut things hahaha

I just received mine earlier today. Fit and finish is good as you'd expect. I love the feel in hand and really like the blade. Seems a bit more utilitarian once you actually have it in hand. I opened some freight with it just to see how it cut and it makes opening boxes and cutting through packing ties a breeze. I included a pic of the lockup which is about 55-60%. This is about the same as my Southard was, which never moved much, so it's not particularly concerning. The action is very stiff so I've been opening and closing since I received it. I also applied some lube to the pivot. I loosened the pivot some but the blade almost immediately slid to the presentation side, so I tightened it back up and will just see if it breaks in some. The spyderhole is on the small side and I can just manage to get the tip of my thumb in (I have large hands). I can still open it without any problem, but it is worth mentioning to those that might be used to flicking open quickly with their thumbs. It can be done but it is a little difficult to get a good purchase on the hole if you have larger hands (or fat fingers). All that being said, I really like the design, feel in hand, cutting ability so far, and overall quality. If I can get it to loosen up, it will be perfect for me.

Thanks Jhawk, I wouldn't worry about it being stiff. It will loosen up and I always try to avoid the temptation to mess with the pivot because they are pretty good about putting it where it needs to be. If you happen to have another Spyderco with the standard 3 hole pattern, could you check and see if the Myrtle has the same 3 hole pattern? I want one, but that clip has to go.

It is not horibly stiff, just stiff...think LionSpy. I grabbed my Manix XL and it is different for clip screws. Middle screw slightly higher on the Myrtle.
