Dear Members,

The world works in strange and mysterious ways and I am in constant awe of its wonder.

At the New York Knife Show this weekend I met with an old and dear friend who I have known for over 15 years. His name is Lance Orton. He is a disabled Vietnam Vet wounded in combat and is one of the most humble and sincere human beings I have known.

What I did not know was that Lance Orton is The Lance Orton, the man who discovered the Times Square Bomber on May 1st, 2010.

Lance is the man who saw the van, saw the man running, heard the sounds and saw the smoke. He is the man who alerted authorities and cleared the streets of tourists. There were in fact hundreds of teenagers directly across the street at the time listening to a DJ and his music. He told me that if the man had not been a coward and run from the van, (he was supposed to die in a suicide detonation) that the bombs would have been successful and hundreds if not thousands would have been killed or injured.

Unfortunately, there is another man claiming to be the man who discovered the bomb and is trying to falsely take credit for it. I saw the pictures, with the Governor, the Chief of Police, the Mayor and the President with my friend Lance, along with his commendations and awards. I am so honored to know him and to know of his service, bravery and honor that he has lived by his entire life. This man sells T-Shirts for a living on that corner and yet he is responsible for saving hundreds of lives and literally millions of dollars in what would have been lost revenues if that Muslim terrorist had successfully carried out his heinous plan.

Here is Lance and myself this weekend.

Best Regards,

Ernest R. Emerson

The world could use a few more Lance Orton's. Thank you Lance.

 Amen. Fellow human beings like him are too few and far between any more. I would wager if you pulled his service record, there may be a commendation or two in his file. An act like this is not a one time thing.
Be safe.

My hat is off to your courage and service, Mr.Orton. The world can use more like you!

2 great Americans in that picture. Everyone knows my respect for Mr. Emerson now let me say thank you to Mr. Orton. You gave this country so much in the past and on that day in times square once again you showed how real men act. Thank you from all those whose lives you saved. Thank from a country that enjoys peace that only comes from the vigilance of warriors.

Once a warrior, always a warrior.
Mr. Orton is a truly great American.
