Mystery Damascus

I made the damascus billet for this one last winter and have no idea of how I got this pattern. I obviously stacked some high layer & low layer lengthwise but other than that I have no idea so it is definately a one-off. Blade is 6 1/4" & OAL is 10 3/4". Handle is buckeye.

I made a similar pattern by taking two triangles of w's back to back and forge welding them together. That seam down the middle is similar to what I got along with the areas of tight and open grain. The problem with my billet is the edges curled up from all the material in the middle coming down.

Regardless the knife and damascus look great!

Thats a good looking knife Gary. Thats the thing with Damascus ,remembering how you put a billet together is half the challenge.
