My sister just got back from paris and picked this up for me. (thanks for directions SpyderNoir_JHA) and the handle material is beauty in disguise. It's not much at a glance, but in the right light at the right angle, well, these pictures don't really do it justice.

There is another view that I couldn't get with the digital camera. it's kind of opalescent. it keeps getting obscured by the glare. I think I need a polarizing filter, and a better light source.

Edited-

the search isn't working for this topic. This knife needs a sheath. the Armes Bastille bag wraped in packing tape I'm using won't hold up for long. I don't want the handle jumbleing around with all the crap in my pockets. all I'm looking for is a simple no frills pocket sheath for this. Any names?

I've been carrying one of thier knives for over 20 years. I also have several back-ups. It's a great edc in carbon steel, the Sandvic stainless dulls up quick. They have well formed sheaths for all their models (some with a small sharpening steel) on their web site. I don't have site handy but was easy to find in a search. Great little knife.

Forgot: It is cow horn.
