MYSTERY KNIFE REVIEW:
Having heard glowing reports on the knife, I finally ordered one, and after months of waiting, it finally arrived! I was anxious to see if all the good things Id heard about it were true, and decided to perform my own battery of tests, as primitive as they may seem to the well trained blade smiths on board, you might still find them interesting. My first impressions were what could be expected, slicing assorted vegetables without any appreciable change in the amazing edge it displayed right out of the box! I even got into the intricacys of some fancy cuts in potatoes, simply out of boredom
Next, a more demanding chore, clearing some wood in the back of the house. Now keep in mind the knife isnt designed for this type of use, but it was a readily available medium for my tests. I quickly reduced the pile to kindling, and even made a little money selling the bundles of kindling to fascinated bystanders; also producing quite a pile of marketable tooth picks in the process!
After cutting up the pile of wood, it was time to test the famous edge holding abilities of this wonder steel on the medium it was designed for. In need of filling the freezer, it was time to do some butchering with this amazing knife. Without even the benefit of a quick touch up, I began the process of breaking down a whole beef critter into more usable proportions:
The final test was to see if in fact I could still slice vegetables without any treatment of the blade after the butchering process. Having used up all my vegetables in my earlier test, I decided to have some fun with a couple of tons of potatoes, a bushel basket at a time!
While not the most scientific of tests, it was a good indicator of the edge holding qualities of the knife, and the fine job that has been done in the crafting of a unbelievable cutting machine!
