Hello, I just wanted to join this forum temporarily to ask you guys if you could tell me anything about this lovely knife that belonged to my late grandfather. He was a painter and i've just managed to clean the paint off it and un-cease the hinge.

Thank you for your help.

I think the picture didn't appear. You need to put a pic on pic host, like imgbb.com. Then, post the link to the pic on the forum.

Don't blame you for not wanting to hop through the hoops that some image hosting sites put in your way. In this case, "direct linking" seems to be a no-no, so I can't just paste that link into a new search tab and find the image.

Does Imgbb give a couple of different formats for the link? There should be one for posting to bulletin boards, which will work here.

It's also possible that there is a time-delay between when you join Bladeforums and when you are allowed to post images. I could easily be wrong about that, I'm just trying to think of what could be going wrong.

No pic.....

You can attach those pictures directly from your phone! Just hit attach files and you should get options directly from your one phone to upload the photos.

Hi, IMGBB gave me the the http one and and also the long number one,

Hmmm.

That link is missing some information. I can get to an image on Imgbb by using this:

www.imgbb.com/ibb.vo/M681jJ0

But it's just some random guy in a suit, not a knife.

I'm not familiar with the specifics of how that site handles links, so I'm not going to be much help. All I can say for sure is that the link needs more information to point Bladeforums' software at your specific image.

Also, apologies to the mods for the unconventional link.

I think you need the bb code link. There is a button 'copy' on the right of it.

Welcome to Bladeforums, even if it will be temporary, hopefully not though H Helen Read

To upload a picture at your free membership level, here is an easy step by step process that K killgar took the time to write up, exactly for this reason.

Here is the direct link to those instructions, best of luck to you.
