Someone suggested that I contact Protech, don't know why that didn't cross my mind. So I did, and attached photos. They said it's definitely been modified, someone's swapped out the blade, and that's why the stonewashed was crossed out on the box. He thought that maybe the hardware was swapped also. So then I did some digging to try and figure out where I purchased it from. Turns out that I got it from a knife consignment site so that pretty much explains it all. Someone molded it, got rid of it, ended up in my hands. I will say that someone did a good job. So thanks for the input and suggestions. Have a great week everyone !!!

All the data but the DLC Coating appears correct on the box label. This is current production, and I'd shoot ProTech an email and confirm if this was a special run or not.
I've seen black handle DLC ones at DLT Trading and a few other dealers.

Malibus sell out within days, or less, at most of the retailers. It's a 'high demand' knife, and no one seems to have them at the moment, which is the norm more than the exception.
