A youngster who some believe is a reincarnation of Budda has gone missing in Nepal. I don't know what to think; I just hope the kid turns up ok.

Sorry they were taking in too much money or me to believe it.

Budda my sweet ***

Supporters have showered 16-year old Ram Bahadur Bomjan with money and gifts for allegedly sitting in motionless meditation in the roots of a pipal tree without taking food or water, or using the toilet, since May 16 last year.

I suspect that after all that time he went off into the woods to go to the bathroom..............

I like this quote:

His followers say he has been meditating for 10 months without food or water and is immune to fire and snake bites.

But these claims have not been independently verified. Scientists were unable to examine the boy as his followers said it would disturb his meditation.

Being set on fire or bitten by a snake would hurt your meditation? No kidding! I recommend waiting until meditation is over.

fire and snake bite do not disturb him, but examination would? sounds fishy to me - the 1st picture with him under the tree looks like a store mannikin with a bad hair wig mostly covered with a purpley blanket - but as they were not able to actually get close enough to examine him, who knows...mebbe he was just a corpse & started to go off....so they got rid of him so they could continue milking 'believers' of more moola.

You train them to survive on less and less food, then just weeks after you get to zero food, they go and kick the bucket.

What's striking about this story are people's willingness to believe it.
We have this need to believe. And great things are accomplished by Faith, so who am I to ridicule anyone?

I find myself always doubting yet always getting a kick out of the show, and every once in awhile, when a real miracle occurs, I just want to break down and cheer.

Young Ram was heard to utter "Damn, that was ripe!" as he left his refuge behind a tree in the nearby forest......."Not enough undergrowth around here; let's move further south..." :foot: ;) :D

Just a picture of the store manequin in this kid's spot, apparently.
