Great photo's, good to see another Mystery Ranch fan. I have the Dragon slayer as well and recently bought a Hip Monkey. Excellent stuff. I'm already debating my next pack. Either the Trance xxx or the Glacier...so many nice packs, so little money...

Thanks for the review. I've been looking at this for a while.
How did they carry loaded up? Sag with weight? Does the live-wing belt carry the load when heavy or does it just stabilize the pack?
Any pictures with each pack on?

i love mystery ranch. they are the best packs made. i carried a kifaru all over iraq and it was pretty nice but i switched over for afghanistan and it made life so much better. i just ordered another 3 day assualt pack with the bvs system. i can't wait for my 5-8 weeks to be up lol

great review i was curious about both those packs. thanks. also do you know if all the packs with the top lids have those organizers in them. i couldn't find anything ont he site about it

Oh man, I'm impressed. I like the way it zips wide open to display the contents. I've always liked the beaver tail and how it hold the whole package together. Very nice ! Thanks for sharing that.

Man that is a sweet pack. I love the way you can open it all the way up. All I have are top loaders so it always seems that what I need to get at has slipped down to the bottom and I have to dig.

How did it carry with #35 in it and were you hiking or climbing with that weight?

Cool pictures!

Owen,

You are decked out with that setup! Thanks for the info and for helping me to decrease my bank account balance!

After taking mine out weighing 29 pounds, I have to say it's one of the more comfy packs I've worn. The waistbelt isn't Kifaru comfy but it does the job well and I can't fault the MR waistbelt design. Overall, It's much more user friendly compared to a Kifaru.
The Tri-Zip is really nice as are the internal pockets and external lid pockets. All are very usable. The daisy chain, upper sides molle and internal webbing are nice for pouches to add space. Very well thought out pack and is the perfect daypack for me. It expands out and compresses nicely. You could easily do a weekend campout with this if you go light and pack right.
