Mystery Tang Stamp

I found a ruined two-blade folder at the Goodwill Clearance Center that has a tang stamp I hope someone can identify. It shows a guy who looks a little like the Monopoly guy Rich Uncle Pennybags carrying a two-blade folder as big as he is over his left shoulder, like a bazooka. Both blades are pointing down. There are two letters over the tang stamp that I can make out. RA. Any ideas? I'd post a photo but can't figure out how to do it yet.

Germania, over on Bernard Levine's forum, identified this stamp as belonging to Carl Jordan Sohn, who was listed as a cutler, in the German business directories, from 1898 to 1967. He also used a CJS stamp.

Yes! It looks just like the same model. And the opposite side of the stamp has the suggestion of MAIER on it.

Carter's "German Knife and Sword Makers" does not have any listings for MAIER. I would suggest posting your knife over on Bernard Levine's forum

Germania, who frequents that forum and identified the mark in the first place, may be able to give you some information on the MAIER mark on your knife.

Maybe that isn't MAIER but MATER instead? The top part looks like it is worn a little.
