Mystery Tip Damage to BRKT Bravo EDC

So I pulled this BRKT Bravo EDC (Elmax) out of the drawer after not having used it in a while, drew it out of its CF sheath, and discovered this. Could this be caused by the sheath itself chipping the tip/chipping the edge when re-sheathing? Knife has never been dropped (that I know of, but my pesky kids could have knocked it off a counter during kitchen prep or something I 'spose), abused or otherwise subjected to treatment that would chip the edge and break the tip. I'm mystified what could have happened. Can anyone speculate? Should this go back for a spa treatment at the factory rather than me trying to grind it out and reprofile the tip - that would be a stretch for my basic sharpening skills? Thanks

I'd send it back. Could be random damage but looks almost like it was ground thin and flaked off with incidental contact.

If its a user, grind it out and use it.

I agree that looks like more of an issue than a bump in a sheath or even a fall damaging the tip. I'd send it back.

I agree with JJ. If it's the steel that it's supposed to be it would have cut the sheath before that damage happened. If you are good with motorized sharpeners it's a 5 minute job. If not, send it in.

Hi,
can you get some shots with a mm ruler?
basically measure the edge bevels width ,
crumble width,
and thickness (edge facing camera, ruler across crumble )
even spine thickness

What angle is is the edge?

Thanks guys. I'm gonna contact BRKT and see about sending it in. Grinding it out is beyond my ken... I can handle routine edge maintenance, but this looks like some more serious work.
