Mystery: Will the next Mistress be a Thinny?

I know it's probably a bit early for this discussion. Some of us are still recuperating from Mistress fury a few months ago. Here's my question. I see that the new Steel Heart LE is actually thinner than the standard version. Could this be a trend? Is it in the stars that the next Mistress could come in a bit lighter than the last one (Fusion Battle Mistress)? I, for one would like to see a sligtly lighter Mistress, like right between a Zero Tolerance and a Fusion Combat grade. What do you think?

I doubt it.

The ASH-1 is based on the straight handle Steel Heart. The LE is a more faithful reproduction, the originals were not very fat.

I hope not, I got a FFBM and a CGBM and both are ideal just the way they are.

I think the weight is part of this knife's personality and to thin her out would diminish the knife a little. I sold my old RTAK II because after holding a BM I knew I wouldn't use any other chopper.

Just my preference though.

I hope not too.. Busse is all about thick, heavy duty knives. When my non-knife friends pick one up they're always impressed by the way a .25 or .32" knife feels in hand. The FBM LE is the king of all knives as far as I'm concerned!! :D:thumbup:

I hope that Busse isn't ALL about thick knives.

The great advantage of Infi is that they can make a thin knife that is still almost indestructible.

Some times added weight is an advantage (choppers), but for all around use a thinner blade gives you more length and leverage for the same weight. I like that trade.

My 1/300 is thinner than my newer FBM/FFBM ( I think that's what at home) by a large margin. It feels alot lighter and handles very well. Thicker is not always better;)

Spoken very wisely brother Hogwash.

Having a special Run of New Battle Mistresses in the same thickness as the AKs would be very nice.

Maybe have a select few in a 12" or 14" blade, sort of a thin Chuckchety.

Yup, I think I could get used to having one of those.

HuH??? What new Mistress? Is Cobalt getting another heavy Mistress?????

Thin meaning 3/16" is much more practical IMO.. I think there is room for both thick and thin, but I really don't see that Busse has to be all about super thick knives.

Maybe Jerry can offer the Rebated flat grind!! Remember when Bob Honeycutt did those??

We have nothing against heavy or even fat mistresses. We would just like the feel of a tight thin mistress and stick into a sheath now and again. I use my Fusion mistress mostly in the workshop. If I had a thinner one I would probably take it out for walks in the woods. I mean, we're just asking for one. The only thin mistress to date (as far as I know) was the zero tolerance but the Busse design has evolved so much since then especially with the new magnum slabs. After we get our thin babe Busse can go back to making the mistresses that don't even look like real mistresses - they look like wives. You know what I mean .. kinda on the fat side. No offence missus.
