Anybody know?

Sanded and wiped with a damp rag...... colour makes me think cedar, juniper... but that's a wild uneducated guess...

Well, I'm calling it mahogany too, then.... thanks guys. My wife picked up a box of 20 assorted wood blocks at a garage sale. I'd say each block is about 4x4x8 long. Most were labeled but some were mystery woods. You may see more posts like this once I get into them.

Phillipine Mahogany(mahogany Meranti) ? Not a true mahogany, but very nice wood.

I used it to build a deck a few years back. Naturall rot resistant and pretty tough stuff. Sanded well and a few coats of Fromby's, it looks very nice.
