Does anyone know why Shirogorov seemingly makes so few of this particular model (as well as the Neon Lite and R20 for that matter) when all signs point to the knife community wanting more of them? I see tons of Quantum Ursuses, F3s, F95s, Neon NLs and Hati’s but rarely do I see Neons for sale (unless at exorbitant prices). The company seems somewhat tone def as to what the knife community wants.

It seems they run patterns for a stretch in different variants and then move to some others and do the same. They just released a batch of Neons and they must have sold out fast but I’d keep an eye out for another release after this weekend, I’m sure Shiro brought a bunch of stock with them to Blade Show for their dealers.

The Neon is like the small Sebenza, some people like them, everyone else prefers the larger knife so that’s probably why they make so many more Quantums, F95’s, F3’s, and this is also most likely why they don’t do bigger/more frequent releases of the 111, because it goes the other way and is larger than the standard size that most Shiro fans carry.

So is the 111 the biggest model?

This is very helpful insight/info. Thank you.

I believe so in terms of their production knives, they may have collaboration models with longer? The 111 means it has a 111mm blade (4.3” roughly) whereas the F95/F3/Quantum sized knives have a 95mm blade (3.75”).

I would definitely sign up for the email announcements from Recon1 for new products so you’ll have a shot next time the Neon’s drop, I think the most recent batch was the Neon Lite.

Now that's cooking with butter and bacon. :)
