N E one have a Benchmare Presidio Ultra???

It's a great inexpensive lighter-weight alternative to the standard. Nothing "Ultra" about it, but a rock solid design. Fit and finish is just as high as with the regular. Think of it as a Griptilian in Presidio clothing.

oops on the "benchmaRe." Id LOVE to see a side by side comparison pic with the mini grip, which is a TAD on the small side for me.

I picked up one of the 527 Ultras a week ago and think highly of it. Although the handle scales are made the same the Noryl GTX used on the Grips and the 530, the savings on both weight and pocket wear over the older 520/525 makes for a good buy recommendation.

The knife has full liners unlike the Grips and the hollow ground 440c blade was shaving sharp out of the box. Here's a few shots of it:

There ya go.

The funny thing being that they had done a limited edition version with AL scales and that exact same grip pattern...last year I think? Maybe the year before that. A very impressive knife for the price. Good move, Benchmade!

Yes they made a limited edition a couple years ago.[ Black blade/grey handle.]
I have one. It has the same pattern scales as the ultra, only in aluminum. This was an improvement over the ridged scales of the original.
It also has an S30V blade. This was definitely one of the most solid folders BM ever made. Mine is well used, but I still have the stupid ‘Limited Edition 254/400’ on the blade, it won’t wear off. I use all my ‘limited edition’ Benchmades.

Was I supposed to keep these as SQ’s? My bad.

Well... got one on the way! There will be a review to follow. Other than the 440c, this looks like a great design... kinda like a beefier griptilian. I HAVE had a Nimravus in 440c, and it was a good steel... The ONLY reason I let it go was due to the overly obtuse grind. I am getting used to it with my Delica4, which is more usable than I thought.

I'm liking the looks of the hollow grind, I haven't had an "axis" for a while, and for whatever reason I LOVE FRN/GTX.

I use all my ‘limited edition’ Benchmades.

More power to ya'! I sold a doctor a couple of Gold Class Benchmades last year and convinced him not to keep them in the box. The way I look at it they didn't spend all that time making such a high quality knife for it to not be used. How much sense does that make? :D
