though you guys might like this.
N.I.C.K. sheath -
breakaway sheath design, open at the spine, with logo window cuttout.
its meant for a right handed user (window is on the side that would open when carried on the right hip). instead of bending out both sides for a thumb ramp, i only bet out the one on the left, because when you push in the center, it just pushes the sheath apart. by pushing it on one side, it opens the back slightly, aiding in withdrawal.
to resheath it, you put the tip in and run it down so that the handle can be insearted near the top (wont go in on the back).
i thought it came out nice... it only has 2 rivets because its meant to iether be kept in the drawer, or hung from a hook.
the second N.I.C.K. sheath = edge only with two snap straps to keep it in place. another one thats meant to be hung from a hook, although with a techlock this could be hung from a belt. it turned out okay... tthe only problem with it is that the snaps rub ont he blade flats when you snap them shut. originally it was much wide, but having looked at my other sheaths and how they turned out i went "screw this. this thing looks horrible, its getting ground waaaaaay down". wich helped a lot in its aesthetics.
next up is the straight handled badger attack sheath, basic fold over design, with the second peice of kydex being a place to attack a belt loop, because i do not have any tecklocks to work with
even though the sheath is for all intents and purposes considerably lighter then the factory sheath that came with it (flat backed pancake), it feels much heftier. the peice of kydex thats folded over is sanded down with my logo very poorly etched into it with the cutting tool from a dremel... i dont have the engraving tool, so it came out pretty funky
. but its for me, so i dont care.
