i just bought a 36OT, new (but rusty) in box, with paper & nylon sheath, with blade etch "New Jersey Division/Of Fish, Game, & Wildlife" for $20.
my search has not turned up any reference to this Ltd. edition.
is anyone familiar with this one and know it's year of production? looks like a carbon steel, not stainless. i'll post a pic when it arrives. thanks, roland

Irv, than you for finding those dates. this one i'm getting has what looks like surface rust on all 3 blades, so i had wondered if it was older.(but i do realize that condition is not necessarily an indicator of age). always good to know age and therefore where a knife fits in with Schrade history. roland

Roland,
Love to see the pictures when they come. a patina on a carbon blade (OT were all originally carbon) is normal/expected. Rust? hopefully its not too bad.

Irv, i get my knives shipped to Northport WA. and then drive down and pick them up. Cdn. border guards are now familiar with "the knife guy" and sometimes wave me through ! but it's an 8 hour round trip drive from home here at the N/E end of Kootenay Lake, so i only go about once every 10 days.
for sure i'll post pics, but i'll be another 5 days. roland

My postman delivered to the door:

No box or bling, just the knife, #2540.

Roland, what a haul! Do you do that for all your mail or just the knives?

Eric

why drive 8 hours to get knives: 1) many U.S. sellers do not ship outside of lower 48, 2) even small packages mailed to Canada take at least 3 weeks,
3) if a border guard wants to inspect the knife, i am there to make sure he(she) treats it properly; whereas mail to Canada may be opened by Customs agent in Vancouver P.O. and "screwed with", 4) less likely to be charged duty if i bring them across myself, and reason #5) i have a 2nd home that is on the way and i can check it, cut grass, etc. all other mail is sent to my B.C. address. i will drive a long way for a good knife ! roland

my 36OT "New Jersey Division of Fish Game & Wildlife" knife has arrived.
below are some rather poor pics., but basically, the box and nylon sheath are in new condition, but the knife, unused, but lots of surface rust blades and springs.
i used Simichrome to clean it (recommended on A.G.Russell website) and the patina remains, most of rust removed, along with blade etch !
so perfect, now i have a perfectly good 36OT user ! roland
