Happy day after tax day fellow Busse buffs! Now that we've paid off the IRS we KNOW what the rest of the money is going for :)

Wondering about something probably any self-respecting INFI-holic would know...

Looking at the specs for the Natural Outlaw and the Satin Jack (both CG) I'v noticed they're almost the same except the N.O.'s OAL is listed as 11.5" v 11.25" for the SJ...then I see the N.O. weighs in at 17oz. and the SJ at 11oz. Is one quarter inch of overall length enough to account for a difference in weight of 6oz. ??

look at the pics of them. One of them is not much thicker( though with the current 3/16 a little), not really longer, but wider from the top to the blade. that accounts for it.

Aspect ratio. It's all in the aspect ratio. The NO is a big, thick hunk of INFI with a relatively thick (length to height) aspect ration. The SJ, ont he other hand is thinner compared to its length. Also, the new SJs are 3/16th, not 1/4" which is in keeping with the more of a slicer character of the SJ as compared to the rompin', stompin', piunding, prying, digging, beating Natural Outlaw. The SJ is probably just as capable in the aforementioned tasks, but the shape and weight of the NO just seems to be more in keeping with those intended uses.

My advise? Get both!:D

The weight difference comes from the differences in the blade and handle width. The NO has a wider blade and handle than the SJ.

This picture might help

Yipppeeee!!! I knew you guys would come through and logically explain the necessity of getting both...SJ is already on it's way (though I think it headed EAST from Ohio on the scenic route to California).
