Hello.

I have not owned a 110 before, which i am hoping to purchase soon.

Is a damascus steel blade still an option at Buck "behind close doors" or was this only available back in the hay days?

I love brass bolsters, but most of the standard damascus bladed knives comes with Nickle silver.
Why is that?

Also, i've seen modified 10s with TI bolsters etc. etc.
Would it be easy to purchase a standard Brass bolstered 10 and transfer the damascus over to that, or rip off the Nickle have some new bolsters made?

And holy fruit !!!
There's so many modified 10s & 12s out there. I did not know sh!t like them even existed. I thought it was only wood and stag scales from OEM, and you're done - so wrong !!!

Is there anyone i should msg in particular, or is there a list going around to see who can do engraving/scrollwork on bolsters, as well as simple filework?
All i need is stag/damascus/brass from factory, and those "simple tasks" i mentioned. Nothing too fancy as yet.

Maybe for my 2nd 110, i can get something from P.Pony or Yellowhorse family (holy moly, you guys seen their work?!?!) . But i know there are others just as great.
Who are they?

And to add, who's the best person i can annoy to get an Auto conversion done?
I asked Butch V but he had no clue what i was rambling on about.
Was it not him from the family?

I appreciate your time reading.
Sorry for all the :jerkit:

Mack.

Mack, you're behind on your reading. Buck offered a damascus 110 with stag handles and brass frame in 1987-90. Occasionally some come up on auction. Then for a longer time their custom shop offered a damascus 110 blade in either frame. So, you missed all these offerings.
Now those are harder to find.
You're in luck on the engraving and scroll work as my wife does this work. Anything you wish.
You're also in luck on the auto 110 as Buck recently did a run on these. Right out of the factory and they may still have some left.
Good luck, DM

What information do you have on a factory 110 auto?
How did I miss that? Only thing I have seen recently is the influx of Chinese 110 clone autos.....

110 auto from factory.......... top of my gotta have list. I want to buy one online but not sure who does a good job.

I believe we discussed this in a topic not so long ago.
Well, I found it on page 33 of Buck's 2015 catalog, at the bottom of the page. They have them at the plant in Idaho. DM

I pinched this image from another forum.

How many of these Chad Nichol blades were released from factory DM?
You mentioned from factory the timeframes from the mid 80s to 90s.

This blade looks like it's from this decade.
How long ago were these released from?

I mentioned late 80's to 90. That 110 I don't know. It is more recent. I think the custom offerings under Richard Rochelle offered those. Which would have been like 2005-2009.
Then Buck took the shop and began offering what we have today. The anvil stamp is for 2002 but it also was used for the custom shop. A very handsome knife. DM

So this falls under that category of "custom order" when we here of traders ordering the minimum of 200 knives, but this time with Chad Nichols damascus?

Yes, very nice knife.
I don't know if i want to Keep It Real, and stay Old School or not :S

Still learning everyday ...

Was it Chad Nichols or Devin Thomas Damascus on the knife the OP has pictured above?
I though it was Devin.... any sources on this info?
Thanks,

Jerad
