I've been looking all over trying to find out when this knife was made. Can't find anything on the Collectors-r-us page, but I'm no expert at finding anything there. Can anyone tell me if this was made by Schrade before the plant shut down, or afterward by Taylor? It's a nice looking knife, and the description says it's made in the USA, but I I know there are now some new Schrades being made in the States. I don't want to throw money better spent on something else of it's a Taylor knife.

Thanks,

Dave

Dave, those were definitely made by Schrade pre-closing, I believe they were part of a lifetime member collection series of knives. I don't recall how many there were but they were made by a number of manufacturers and came in a single case. I believe it was 1990 but I could be wrong on that date. They've got the Schrade+ USA LTD tang stamp as opposed to the plain "Schrade" Taylors.

There is another auction, a BIN, where the guys says he has 9 available, with a BIN price of $49.00. If I didn't get this one, I was just going to say to hell with it and grab one of those. Basically saved the shipping cost here.

You're welcome Dave, here's a shot of the set that knife came in,the "Hunting Heritage Set". Incidently, the stag Schrade caper below it was also a part of the set. They all had the same blade etch as well:

PS- not my set, just a shot off the web;)

This set is much nicer than first glance. Even the paka looking Winchester is a Queen made Blue Grass Cutlery knife from the early 1990's. I bought close to 1000 of these, mostly the Schrade and Case, but never have handled the Marbles. All of these pictured are top notch knives and come with leather sheaths as well. The Camillus lockback has front inlay handles by Sante Fe Stoneworks.

Hi guys, Been lurking here for a bit, looking through the archives, don't want to ask old questions. Found this thread and had a question about my NAHC PH-1. Is the blade etched or CNC engraved. Bought one of these off e-bay and under a loupe it shows signs of CNC work, can't tell from these pics how these are decorated. Other than that I'm up in western washington and have been quitely collecting schrades for a while. granddad got me started at 7. But will also pick up any knife that catches my eye.
