The FAA is apparently allowing nail clippers on board, but without the swingout pointy nail file.

Paste these two strings together and put it in your browser window:

I figure I can always rig up a "rounded" emery board of sorts, but are nail clippers manufactured without the nail file, or where the file is integral to the body of the clipper, so it cannot be swung out and isn't pointed?

I always travel with my mini mag, has anyone gotten one on board yet?

I am gonna ask this on practical tactical

Hey cardimon, just take a hacksaw to the nail file and smooth off the nub with a file.

My father once told me it would be illegal to carry a fingernail clipper - I did not believe him - but the day has come.

Unbelievable.

I have never seen a fingernail clipper without a swing out file - but I suppose they are out there.

San Diego Airport has a list of what's not allowed on their website. www.portofsandiego.org

They changed the list today. Yesterday they said no plastic knives and no multitools (they mentioned Leathermans by name)

A close friend of mine had his nail clippers confiscated before boarding a Southwest Airlines 737. The funny thing is, he was the Pilot in Command.

A.G. Russell also carries a nice pair of nail clippers which i believe do not have a file. I got some for my dad for father's day.

These are nice clippers that have nothing pointy at all . . . no type of file either!

Thanks, Jason. Exactly what I was looking for.

I'd sure hope travelers would have been doing these ANYWAY.
