Nail nick on the Case Mini Trapper

I love my Mini Trapper, but if I could change one thing - it would be the position of the nail nick on the Clip point blade. I have a tiny trapper and they managed to get it right on that model, and the full sized trapper has it well forward too. But the mini trapper has its nail tick so far back that it is, in my opinion, in the wrong position.

Anyone agree with me?

Definitely. A properly placed nick improves ease of opening without affecting snap or retention. It drives me crazy on mine and stays on the shelf because of it.

Yes, that is my only complaint with the Case Mini Trapper. I would love to see Case come out with a revival of their jack knife version of that same handle pattern. It had the more normal clip blade shape with the nail nick further out along it.

I would love to see the mini trapper clip blade to be similar to the full size trapper clip blade.

I couldn't agree with you more. Move the nail nick on the Wharncliffe to the pile side. Use a different type clip that would allow for a better position of the nail nick on the mark side.

Thanks Guys - so we all agree - now what to do about it? Keep searching for the perfect knife, right?!

:)
