Nail nickless 112s

I love the look of the 112 without a nail nick. Always have. I just got one on that big auction site. Can any of you Buck experts tell me more about the 112 with/without the nail nick? I'm curious when the nick way added. And why. It'd be awesome if nickless was an option in the custom shop. Actually that'd be killer for the custom 110 as well!

Buck added the nail nick to the 112 in 1980 in the 3 dot time frame. As the marketing dept. thought this may improve sales. Buck has since offered the 110 and 112 in special runs without a nail nick. I've always like them without one. Enjoy yours. DM
