Naive question about slipjoints

I've searched and I can't find the answer to my question: when a maker has sent me a finished slipjoint (with pinned scales) and I find that that blade is quite a bit off-centre in the trough - is it possible for the maker to correct that if I send it back to him? (1. I am willing to pay for the work, and 2. the original price of the knife is such that if the answer is "No", I can live with it.)

TIA

Talk to the maker. It will depend on the knife itself and the skill of the maker. And there is a risk the knife will be ruined or it will cost as much as the knife itself.

Hey Farmer, greetings from out east,
Look at the other knives in your collection! Are the blades off center? Sometimes we makers get a little behind shedule and settle for "It's close enough- nobody will notice " just to get things out of the shop. Don't hesitate to call us on it when it happens . We have all been there before ,and when we are questioned about the error it helps us to rethink our priorities. If we are capable of doing it right there is little excuse for "almost right". You,as a collector, are our primary reason for being! Sure we make knives because we love to, but we wouldn't make them for long if no-one bought them. So don't be afraid to expect ,and request the quality you pay for!
I guess the old adage is right-Keyboards and Merlot don't mix.
Regards, Don
