Dudes,

Any Nalgene container users out here? I think the fuel bottles are AWESOME! :D

Sam

Nalgene kicks ass!

The clear plastic ones (not the white ones) are worth the extra $$. Talk about TOUGH! The measurements on the side are great for you to track how much water you have been drinking. And, these are sized right for many pouches on packs and such. Nalgene is the best water bottle you can get. Well, maybe there are others that are better, but dollar for dollar, it is hard to beat Nalgene.

I have about 7 of the lexan bottles and use them everyday for water, in addition to when hiking. Tough as nails.

Oh yeah! They rock!!! The stainless steel cups that fit over the bottoms are awesome also!!!

Have ya'll seen this yet?

From their website.....

The All New NALGENE GoCup(TM)
NALGENE's new GoCup offers two containers in one! The inner, Lexan bottle holds 18oz. of your favorite hot or cold beverage and un-snaps from the outer measuring cup. The tethered cap provides a place to clip the GoCup to your pack and carry a utensil (not included). Bottle and outer measuring cup are made of Lexan

Available in three colors; Vibrant Violet, Meadow Green and NALGENE Grey. For a limited time, the NALGENE key clip (as pictured) is included with every purchase!

Too Cool!!!

Lexan Nalgene is the best performer and value in the outdoor bottle market, period.

Been using Nalgene labware bottles for over 24 years. I get the 1 litre hdpe bottles for free.

I don't know how, but i managed to crack the bottom of one of their Lexan bottles. I emailed Nalgene about it. They asked me to send it back to them. They replaced it a week later with a brand spanking new one, free of charge.

In addition to liquids I use them for keeping stuff dry. I clip one in my whitewater boat packed with an emergency overnight kit. Got a bud that uses them to whoop up a quick pancake breakfast.
Stay Safe,

I also have a smaller one I put canned fruit in when hiking. Lighter than carrying a can and you don't have to fight to open it (though I am sure all of us would have a can opener on us somewhere ;) )

I knew someone who broke a Nalgene bottle...he was throwing it at the ground in a parking lot so it would get that "cool" weathered look, and he cracked the cap! I've never actually seen the bottle itself break, even under pretty heavy abuse. Smooth move, Ex-Lax!

Yes these are the very best bottles for everyday hard use. I carry three quart bottles with me everyday. I have the stainless steel cup that fits over the bottom of the round quarts.

I also had a cap break one time out of 15 years of using these bottles. It flew out my car window and landed in a busy road. I pulled over and ran back to get it and the next car ran over the cap and broke it.

For hard bottle these are all I use. I do like the Platypus hydration bladders for long range hiking though.

Dudes,

In my country, Nalgene containers are practically unheard of.. I had a few and sometimes give them away on my trips. I must say that the red fuel bottles are AWESOME! :D

BoyNHisDog,
Where did you find the stainless steel cup for the bottles?
They dont list them on their website.
Apprieciate the info.

nalgene bottles are awesome, i always carry one with water in it with me but i'd like to get a couple more for various purposes. the new ones seem pretty sweet.

I just bought 2 new Nalgene bottles this week, one Lexan and one of the older hdpe bottles, I use 'em for both wet and dry storage. Also talked my camping store into ordering another batch of the 'spacesaver' stainless steel cups that fit over the bottom of a standard Nalgene bottle. Getting a couple of the cups, one of these will go over my OLD Nalgene bottles, filled with beans and rice, hidden in the truck. Food for 3 days,a (tiny) cookpot, and unbreakable waterbottle all in the space it takes to hold a bottle of Coke. Hard to beat.

Noticed that several of you asked where to get these cups. Another poster in the Wilderness Skills thread posted this link

Hope that helps.

Dude,

When I'm back on my two feet, I'll head down South to Singapore for more Nalgene containers!! :D
