Hey Chris,

How are things going? Sending good thoughts and prayers your way. Email if you need anything.

Rob

Edited to add: if Chris isn't around, has anyone heard from him lately?

He responded to my smoke request Rob. That was on 05-18-2006, 04:39 PM. Just regarding Dick and the smoke request though, no details.

Were all here for you Chris. Smoke from Atl.

De nada bro. Hope allz well with you. Kids good? Job?

Took Hannah camping this weekend. She's a trooper boy, lemme tell ya. Its really amazing the way she watches me and my wife. She's getting to the end of her sassy phase she's been going through. Took lots of discipline though, she's got just enough coonass in her to really wreck the train if we're not careful. LOL. My wife love to point that out to me. Yea, like she's not sassy as hell too. LOL.

Hey, guys!

Oh, yeah, I'm still around and kickin! That little bladeforums shutdown sort of threw me off, and I guess I didn't check in for a while after it came back on.

All is well in my world. Normalcy is finally beginning to set in. College just finished up for the year, so I was back there frequently hanging out and partying with my friends. It was a great time. Whoever it was who said that this is one of the best times of a person's life put it mildly. Despite all of what's happened, life is still great.

I just started learning Thai in preparation for a 3-week trip to Thailand I'm taking this summer. My girlfriend's family is from Thailand, so I'm finally going over to meat the family and see where her folks come from. I can't wait, and the prospect of getting the inside view of another country is exciting. I've traveled abroad a lot, but not in this capacity. Also, her grandfather recently died, and the funeral will be while we are there. He was really very high in Thai society, so he gets some sort of semi-royal cremation ceremony. My religious studies professor just about died himself when I told him about this! It will be an amazing opportunity for me, to say the least!

Other than that, I'm going to start work this weekend. Boat rental job for the summer. It pays well, and it's outside. What more could I want? Also, I'm going to be volunteering in a large hospital regularly. Trauma and oncology. I'm leaning towards medicine right now, so this should be very interesting. And needless to say, I feel that my own experiences should help me in oncology. Should be good.

Thanks for the concern, guys. I can't say how much I appreciate having a group of people out there who truly care. I'm thrilled that bladeforums is back up, and I intend to be rather more present nowadays.

Thanks again, and my best wishes to all of you and yours.

Chris

Thats great Chris. I started out wanting to go medicine. Can't say or not whether changing my mind on this was the right choice or not. Can't say its been easy either, and I wouldn't change anything, so I guess I'm saying I have no wisdom period. LOL.

Good to hear your "voice" over here though. Have fun, I did and I know its super important.

Glad things are well Chris. Thailand is on my list of places to see. Try to see some boxing matches. Thai boxing is the real deal and lots of fun to watch. Get into as much as you can at the hospital. Everysthing relates to everything else. Nurses and allied health professionals are a wealth of information and knowledge, take adnantage. Have fun and be safe!

Great to hear Chris! I'm so glad you're doing so well:thumbup:

I've heard that the Thai people are incredibly warm and kind. Have an awesome time--but please promise to show pictures when you get back!!

You will be an amazing oncologist--there is nothing like having a doc who's been there and done that personally---you could change so many lives. Good for you.
