Namaste everybody!

I arrived safely in Reno and have said my prayer for safe journey.

I have had no sleep for almost 48 hours and my brain thinks it is almost time to get up and drink tea.

I must visit with Jwai and daughter today but I will see you tomorrow -- I hope!

We have much to discuss.

I just looked at the many fine gifts you sent for our kamis and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. The boys will love these gifts and I will thank you now for them, too.

Namaste!

Kami (you can call me Pala if you like -- that means Dad in Nepali)

Namaste, Kami Sherpa, and welcome. I hope that your journey was pleasant. Enjoy your visit with your family. I am looking forward to our discussions.

Namaste! I wish that I had learned more Ghurkali before your visit, Pala. We have heard so much about you and your country from Jwai Bill.

Please enjoy our beautiful country, get some rest, and enjoy being with your family.

Namaste, Pala. I hope you enjoy your stay and time with your family. Be sure to relax a bit, it's good for the health.

Namaste, mero baiharu!

This means "I salute the God within you, my little brothers."

I suspect I am the oldest man posting here but if I am not then to my elders I send apologies for my lack of respect by calling you little brother.

I am still operating on Nepal time -- 12 hours difference but I will drink my morning tea and do my morning puja and I will be better.

My great and sincere thanks for the wonderful welcome you have given me. I am still overwhelmed with the kindness of those who sent gifts for our kamis. You are a kind and generous people. I salute you.

I will be here later.

Namaste!

Namaste and Tashi Delek, Pala!

Welcome to the US from this former "line-boy" (army brat). As I'm sure you're aware by now, a lot of people here have been looking forward to your visit. As someone who was taught how to swim; ride a bicycle; box; play football/soccer; do some shooting (FN FAL, Sterling SMG, Browning HP); do "Jaunri" dancing to songs like "Resham-firiri", "timro bau lai salam chha..." etc. all by my Gorkhali dajus, I'm thrilled that I still have this opportunity to learn more from an elder Gorkhali!

I hope and pray to "Guru Rimboche" as well as "Durga-Ma" that you have a fruitful and enjoyable stay here!

With Respects,
- Sonam

I am glad you had a safe trip. It is good to have you with us. You have already answered a question about what to do with a sheath that is to tight. Thank you very much for that bit of information.
