I know the Japanese have a long history of making great blades. Can one of you suggest to me a certian, brand of folder I could look into? if they exsist.

Peace.......Scotty

Rockstead... very expensive...

Al Mar and Mcusta are also Japanese, or am I in error?

Seki Cut, Mcusta and Moki are 3 very good brands for production knives. Custom makers and options can go in many directions depending on what you want to do and how much you want to spend.

Don't know if it counts for you, but alot of Spyderco knives are Japanese made and they are very well liked. (Seki-City)

what they said. mcusta is good value for money, and most of spydercos knives (all those ZDP and VG10 models) are made in seki-city.

even William Henrys are ground in Japan. as are Fallknivens.

if you are looking for non-folders, then may I suggest you try their blue steel gyutos...yummy.

if you mean Japanese swords...then it's totally different.

Not ALL Spyderco knives are made in Japan. Many ARE made in Colorado!!

Thanks allot guys! I know I love sushi and I know I love the Lexus. And I know I love Seiko and Sony. So I realize most things mad in Japan are top notch. So I will try to expand my horizon past my beloved Benchies.

Once again double thanks for your wealth of knowledge.

Sorry on the spydies, Japan made or not, I get past what I perceive s as the Hunchback of norte danm look. That perceived homeliness would preclude me from ever buying one. I sure their fantastic knives.

A Spyderco blade will tell you where it is made. Grabbing a Golden, CO blade by 'mistake' won't be regrettable, however.

I've liked Spyderco's Japanese knives. I believe Al mar is Japanese also and I've heard magical things about them. Never used one myself.
