Saw a pic of the knife in a sharpener ad in the back of Tactical Knives & my girlfriend wanted one when I told her it was a cheap, cute little Buck. It's an out of production linerlock, & had a 3' egg shaped blade with an oval opening slot & a nice point & went for 20 or so dollars. I even bought one for someone but I can't remember the name. Please help. Thanks.

Just got you in the general forum, but I'll repost here.

Was it an Odyssey?

Yes sir. It was. I love this place! I'm presently running one down. I'm going to post in the want to buy section. Thanks again.

The first model came out with a ATS-34 blade and ran 40$ . Try to buy a decent knife with that steel and see what it runs you . DM

My first post was at 2:24. It's 4:21 & I'm tightening the pivot on a new plum paperstone Buck Odyssey. Around 2 hours from having that random whim hit us to holding the knife. God bless capitalism! My Wal-Mart stocked them. The scales are very nice looking. $27.03 total.

Great . Our Wal-Mart is larger that the store in Stephenville and ours doesn't stock that model . But theres alot of things our store doesn't stock . DM

Give 'em a call. The chain does a store-to-store shipping deal for no charge. I got a Byrd Cara Cara sent to my store that way at the online listed cost. It's worth a try.

I love the feel of the odyssey, but in all honesty unless it has the ats34 steel, it is just too frustrating for me to carry. I had one of the original 440 models and it was given away when I cleaned out all the 440 stuff from my collection.

I don't think that you could have ever had an Odyssey with 440 steel. The Odyssey was introduced in 1998, about 18 years after Buck dicontinued using 440. You must mean you that had one with 420HC.
