Name that knife. CRKT

First one, not sure but it looks like one of the Carson models. The circles are oval-shaped though, so it doesn't match anything in the CRKT flyer that I have.

The second one looks like the Ryan 7.

Ah, I thought it said Ayan on the blade. Thanks. I'm quite interested in knowing what the blade steel is on the first one, any CRKT fans who could even just make an educated guess?

I've got CRKT catalogs for the past 4 years and been following their line since the begining and I've never seen that first knife. The second ones looks like a Ryan Model 7 but theres 2 diffrent steels that was used aus6 and later they changed to 420j2 so be careful.

I am not sure I would trust those. Need pictures from all sides and blades open. GOOD LUCK! Kevin:confused:

I started watching CRKT from 2001 I think. Never seen that model (no.1)

I recently saw a knife that marked CRKT but very sure isn't, made in China & a copy of some other brand's model.

It's a folding dagger, about 4" blade, and has two handles folded over, but vertically, not horizontally (balisong is horizontal). I mean, if you put the blade flat on table, balisong handle will fold horizontally. This knife fold vertically.

So, beware of fake ones.

One note though, although China makes a lot of copycat design, the steel & fit/finish improved a lot. Example is Sanrenmu knives.

I wouldn't trust them . . .

The first one is the Ryan Model 7, as others said, but all the pics you can find have a metal thumbstud, not a black plastic one ...

And the second one looks awfully similar to the Benchmade Presidio to be a real CRKT.

Take care! :)

Sorry for my english :o

Actually picked up the 'mystery' model before I read some of your helpful comments. It could be counterfeit but I have no experience with the brand so I can't say for sure. E-mailed CRKT but no word in the past couple days. Are there any tells I can look for?

One thing though, if it is a knock off, the manufacturing tolerances are fecking unbelievable. My folders (mostly ~$50 range) all have some kind of almost imperceptible hairline blade play. This blade has literally no play in any direction.

Suggestions: What should I do with it if it's fake? Give it to a homeless man? I just bought it as a beater for work but I don't want to put heavy use on a blade I don't trust.

Perhaps it's a good fake. I have some that doesn't say CRKT, brandishing it's own brand, China, and the steel/construction is good.

You can keep it and use it .. no issue, as long as you know what you have there ;)
