If there is one....

What would you call these knives?
A variety of knife makers here and around the web share a certain look.
I Love it!

What would you call That style?

It's sorta dated, but in a Good way. Vintage, retro sort of. Heavy-duty, yet classy.
You can't tell if they were made in the 80's or now? Timeless.
Not gimmicky, Not flashy, Not for mall ninja's

*I purposely left off the makers, as I didn't want to call out, showcase, or advertise them. Since I started this post.

You have some posted that have 3.5” blades and some with 13.5” blades, there’s all sorts of different grinds, some are designed for chopping brush and trees but some others sole purpose is skinning an animal, a few look like you could pocket carry them as a fixed blade edc but others you’d strap to a pack for carry. About all I see in common is they’re full tang construction with an outdoor purpose in mind, but look at it this way, you love a variety and that’s what we’re here for!

As Jsega51 Jsega51 said, I wouldn't put them all in the same category. There's a Nessmuk design, a Kephart style, a chopper.....but yeah, the majority of the rest of them I would classify as "camp knives"

And perhaps it's a Handmade thing...... These knives were most likely made by hand, and not computer aided machines.

I mean, I see jade G10, which is kinda a stretch, but I can’t have my only comment on this thread be crazy sarcastic!
 
Mostly full tang, drop or spear point, no choil, lanyard hole, heavy patina, high carbon steel. Some exceptions.
 
If there are sheaths included - outdoor knives (progressive bushcrafts)
If not - kitchen ones

I agree.... The g10 was a Stretch. Should be Micarta.... Black, Green, Natural, or Maroon. Preferably old Westinghouse? Hahha :D

I have to admit that I'm biased toward machines. I love the precision of them.
 
What they all have in common is that they are all 'working knife' designs. Nothing fancy, simple cutting tools. Labels aren't important. You can call them camp knives, choppers, pig-stickers, tactical chef's knife, Frank, Gertrude, or whatever, but if it's a working knife, it doesn't really need a name....
