in BF recently there has been a thread about recognizeable makers.

This is a new knife. Name the maker (don't cheat ok) and then please comment re some questions I have.

The first image is the left hand side of the folder and is camera original

Second is the R hand side of the folder and also is camera original

now for the same two images that have had max contrast and brightness adjustments via ULead PhotoExplorer 3.

Please comment on your preference and why. I find I sometimes see the image different in the browser window than from the HDD.

Thanks for your assistance guys.

What a beauty. I shouldn't really say who the maker is even though I would have known before seeing this picture, with the name of the maker, earlier today. I will say however that this is one of the great Art Knife makers and that he is Canadian. Too bad that he does not seem to have a web site any more.

I like the first two pictures better because they are not as dark. I can make out the background better and I can see better detail on the knife because the grey scale is better.

What a fanastic knife! How can I get a hold of the maker and order one? :D Racer Roy

Racer Roy--I can easily put you in contact with Wolfe. He is probably the premiere knifemaker among the top knifemakers throughout the world.
Not sure what the budget is you have but if I recall, this piece sold for about $4600US. Let me know if you wish to proceed.

Yea, I peer way way way up and stare in awe at his work!

It is so beautiful, so flowing, so amazingly difficult in execution.

I agree with Keith...Wolfe's site was one of the most beautiful sites I've seen for a knifemaker...both in its own styling, and in cumulative effect with the knives. Sure wish I could still view it :(

The work that Wolfe has done, and his collaborations with our own Mr. Herman...are nothing short of amazing.

Nick

I guess that I will have to pass on your generous offer Murray. I just collect quality knives not big name knife makers. :( Racer Roy
