I've had this Victorinox since the late 80's. I can't remember the name or model and I can't find the same tool set on sakwiki?? Any help is appreciated!
definately pre hook huntsman with screw on the scissor... got one, but retired it... the new models got better scissor... dont care about the hook though.
Definitely a huntsman, got mine in the late 80's as well. I was a huge Macgyver fan. It was my first real knife. I carried it for years until I bought my first pliers based multi. Now it resides in my nightstand, I still use the scissors. Great knife, if they made one with alox it would be better.
The hook was a relatively recent addition. It was supposed to be used to carry boxes that were tied with twine so it doesn't cut into your hands. Some use it to help untie shoe laces / boot laces, and I've seen where someone used it as a coat hangar in a public restroom where there was a hole in the door where the coat hanger used to reside.
I do not find much use for it.
I agree that Vic should consider making an alox version - I'd be all over that.
