Got this Spyderco from a friend as a gift, but can't identify it.
Specs:
Black FRN scales with rubber-like inserts with tiny squares with dimples in the center of each rubber square shape.
Full open length: 6-15/16"
Blade length is 3" overall with 2-1/2" fully serrated cutting surface. Wicked sharp!
Blade marked "SEKI-CITY JAPAN" on left side near pivot, and "Spyderco AUS-8 Stainless" on left side at pivot.
Has a carbiner-like hook that says "US Foreign Patents". Hook is coated with same type FRN? with a steel center that sticks out the tip and metal loop clip.
Any help identifying this knife would be appreciated. It resembles the Lady Bug and Dragon Fly styles, but different size and has this "clip" I'm not finding in any of the searches I've done so far.
Here are some photos:

That's a C26 Snap-it. Great shape.

Thanks for the ID Barman1!

Yes, it is like new. The friend that gave it to me, said it was given to him years ago by a fellow climber, but he never used or carried it.

Knowing that I am a bit of a amateur knife collector who had up until now, no Spydercos, he sent it to me. ;)

Any other information anyone might have on this knife, ie value, when they were first made and distributed, etc, is encouraged as well.

Do a quick search on the auction site to get an idea of the value.

Thanks fellas!

That's exactly what I was doing, searching older pricing/auctions, etc.

Found another site that gave a rundown of inception dates for Spyderco.

The C26 "Snap-It" came out in 1993 and has a retail of $54.95.

Most had another type steel G-2? But mine is AUS-8.

Now there are a couple on sale used for $65 not nearly in as nice condition as the one I have.

This thing is literally like new, just no box.

There is also one of the Red ones in mint condition listed for $100.

I'm thinking about putting this one out there for trade on a Manix 2 Translucent Blue.

While this one is in pretty much brand new condition, I'm not a big fan of serrations.

Thanks again for the info and input guys!

Badman

Do you still have your C26.

Believe it or not, I have a box.

I have no idea why. I've never had a C26. I'd be willing to part with it. If you want it just PM or email me.

Hey Aquaman,
Yes, I do! I'd love to have the box if you're willing to part with it.
Let me know. badman400ataoldotcom.
Thanks!
Wade

email sent.

Badman, you should hang onto the knife. Nobody makes serrations like Spyderco.

Yeah, I found that out with my first touch.

Even though I have a practiced touch with knives, I felt the stick.

I still thought I'd see an attendant drop of blood follow that first hello.

No blood, but a new found respect for Spyderco serrations for sure.

I may keep it just for the sentimental value.

But if someone waved a Manix2 Blue translucent or a Para 2 blk blade w/camo, in front of me, I'd have a decision to make. :o
