It's time to have a bit of fun.

Y'all know that the civilian knock-off, look-alike of the military's High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (also known as the Humee) is called the Hummer.

The military is now taking delivery of a new vehicle, the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle (MRAP is the official short-hand, though what pet name the soldiers will give it has yet to be seen).

This thread is NOT, I repeat NOT, about the vehicle itself. If you want to talk about this vehicle, go to THIS THREAD and do it there. This is a Community Center thread about off-topic humor.

You just know that there'll have to be a civilian version of this vehicle, something mom can heard the little ones into and take them to soccer practice safe from mines and ambushes. It'll probabaly get about three gallons to the mile, but who cares?

The real question is: what will the civilian version be called?

How about: The Rapper?

Sorry Chuck, but if you are trying to say that naming a vehicle is not talking about the vehicle you would be mistaken. To name the vehicle you have to discuss it and that would fall into the G&G catergory. So guess what......off it goes.

(And don't try to convince me otherwise. I'm not moving it back.)

Maybe it might look like this:

Inasmuch as there is no such vehicle, it's all a joke!

Allow me to remind you that the definition of community center includes " humor."

Allow me to remind you that it's still a vehicle we are discussing here, humor or not. Over ruled.

I agree with Ken; humor about a vehicle is G&G.

I can't see soccer moms buying anything with two rear axles, but it could have a fake extra axle, which could actually be two spare tires (not touching the ground) but probably wouldn't be -- the tires would be fake too. There are fake woodies all over the streets ... tail fins were fake aerodynamic features ... most of the air scoops on cars are non-functional, etc. Hmm ... why not deck out a car like a tank with a fake gun to sell to the soccer mom's husbands? Would you buy a fake armored car with a fake gun turret?

How about if the gun actually shoots water? :D

I just looked at the other thread and apparently there's a version with only one rear axle.

how about the gossolar xt cause your wallet is going to hurt after you fill up that tank:D :p

Given how they maintain roads in our part of the world, I would simply call it a 'family van', or perhaps new generation 'family wagon'.

Looks like a goat hauler to me.
