In Japanese martial arts there are names for the different sticks of each length (yawari, kongo, tanjo, hanbo, jo, bo). What are each of the different lengths of stick called in the FMA?

Hmmm .... I think it goes something like: stick, stick, stick and .... stick!

There are different names for different length's in different languages. What does not exist is a common vocabulary in FMA. So unlike JMA where lets say "hanbo" is a meter long stick regardless of the Budo, the 3 meter stick could or could not have a specialized name.

Here are some examples of stick length names:

pocket sticks similiar to a kubotan (sp?)- Tabak Malit, if their end are sharp Dulo-Dulo (Double ended)

Long sticks, poles, staves- Pinnga, Sibat ( in some dialects this means spear). Dos Manos, really a method of holding a stick with two hands but can imply a longer stick.

flat stick - garrote

pointed stick - Tabak

i've also heard longer style sticks ~40"+ referred to as Tapado, but that may be more of the style of the two handed grip like a baseball bat more than a reference to length.
