I don't know about other makers but I often have problems naming knives. Unlike naming children where there are books of names that you can chose from knives have to have special names that evoke some memory in the beholder.
This little boot knife was one of those knives that I just couldn't come up with a name for so I asked a friend to help. His wife was nearby when the scan came in and she looked at it and immediately christened it "The Silver Spur".
I think it is an appropriate name for a boot knife.
Now that it has a name I am going to make a couple more for the Christmas trade out of random pattern Damasteel mirror polished and etched and the same mother of pearl inserts.
