So I just picked up 3 naniwa pro stones 400 800 and 3k. My question is will these be good stones for sharpening and maintaining m390 maxamet s90v s110v. I have been using a wicked edge with diamond stones.
They are aluminum oxide so no they will not be a good choice for highly alloyed steels. Anything with 4% or greater Vanadium content will almost always need diamonds.
The Naniwa Pro stones are great for most everything else though.
