Custom Nano Fusion Warpath with Crosscut Mammoth Ivory…. Very interesting piece to me.
When I first held this knife in my hand, the word that came to mind was “time.”
The 10-inch blade doesn’t just command respect with its size — it radiates a kind of seasoned confidence, like steel that has weathered the decades. Busse’s INFI steel carries that paradoxical magic: strength without brittleness, a warrior’s durability without stiffness. It reminds me of a veteran — one who bears the scars of battle yet still stands, unyielding.
But what truly sets this knife apart is the handle — and more specifically, the material: Crosscut mammoth ivory. This fossil ivory, cut against the grain of a tusk buried for tens of thousands of years, reveals a mesmerizing pattern. The radiant cross-section doesn’t just decorate — it tells a story. A story of earth and ice, of ancient life now long gone. Holding it in my hand, I feel the chill of time, yet strangely, there’s a warmth that invites you to linger, to look closer.
So, what Makes It Special to me? Of course is the blade. This blade commands presence.
The geometry is bold and unapologetic.
But the real art lies in the scale — that swirling medallion at the heart of the handle is unlike anything I’ve seen in crosscut ivory before. It’s as if the spirit of the mammoth still lingers, sealed beneath layers of polish and time.
And here’s something personal: one evening, I lightly applied camellia oil across the surface and let it catch the soft light. What I saw was breathtaking.
The grain shimmered like ripples across a deep lake, then settled into stillness — like a secret being whispered by a fossil too proud to fade.
This knife transcends function. It’s not just a tool — it’s a piece of time-
To one person, it might be a weapon.
To another, a display piece.
But for me? This knife is a key. A key to something ancient.
Something eternal.
A fragment of a legend that I now get to hold in my hands.
