So while at work yesterday I had my Izula hanging around my neck, to cut myself out of vines, or other woodsy things that may come up. While I was making a walking stick, using my Izula, I had a thought that this little knife has a major Napoleon Complex. It thinks it a much larger fixed blade then it is. It does the work of a much larger blade, but it is so small. I love this thing, and it grows on me more and more each day. Just thought I would share.

I'm not surprised. You're describing the kinds of work I used to use a small SAK for. The Izula blade is much stronger and easier to use than a slipjoint.

I find myself using my Izula for larger projects also. It's very strong and cuts great. Also if you want to use it as an EDC it's easy to carry. I'm really thinking of buying a second one now.

I was just splittin' up fatwood into small matchstick pieces, I carry a few pieces in my Matchsafe, last longer than regular matches and I've always had enough tinder to get a hot flame started for a good fire.

It is amazin' how useful the Izula is, lotta knife in a small package. :)

AS I mentioned in the other thread, I completely field dressed a large doe with nothing but an Izula Friday, even batoning it through the ribs.

Amazing what these little cutters can handle!!!

I got mine Friday, cut myself Saturday and I still can't put down.:D:thumbup:

I think everyone has cut themselves with their first new Izula. Part of the "ant" initiation. Welcome to the club. Knock on wood.... My second has not bitten me yet. Maybe I learned from the first.

My hand are so bandaged from stone knapping wounds (obsidian makes the sharpest rat feel like a butter knife), the Izula has not had a chance to bite me...yet.

I wonder how many of us who appreciate a tiny, well made little over-achiever like the Izula would have even looked sideways at it twenty years ago when the hollow handle survival knives were the rage. While the Izula is undoubtedly an awesome little EDC knife, it also takes a mature user to fully appreciate it.

BTW, right now I'm still using my little Becker Necker, but the Izula is on my short list of purchases.

I've been a really good boy this year, I hope Santa brings me one! Small potatoes since my wife wants a puppy!
