Sal, I heard a terribly silly rumour that spyderco knives with serrations won't be allowed in Canada anymore eventually because they are too aggressive. This sounds completely silly to me, I've been telling people that asked me this (I live in Canada) that it's just a silly rumour. Back me up please!

Jadis - Sorry about that, yes we've heard. We've also hear that customs is stopping the importation of any knife that can be opened with one hand from the "Dragonfly" to the "Buck 110".
We tried to work with the Crown several years ago. Hired an attorney, etc. tried to get them to give us some numerical rules that we can build to (poundage required to open, blade length, etc). They were not cooperative and we abandoned the project. Don't know where this is going. Maybe knife people need to form an AKTI in Canada and work with the American Knife and Tool Institute in the USA. AKTI is trying to prepare for such legal changes.

Due to Canada's strict gun control laws, the rate of stabbings has gone up. Solution...limit knives...Pretty soon Canadians will be issued crayons and safety scissors...America, I am sure, will follow close suit.

The customs people do not always follow the regulations they are supposed to. As far as I know there are no regulations in canada currently against serrated or one handed knives. This does not mean that customs cannot take them, it does mean that you can fight them though. I know it will not stop me from ordering any knife. Note as well that there are many canadian dealers with serrated and one handed knives so you can just order from them.

That sounds just horrible! But i'm positive these things have yet to be passed. As many stores sell one handed/and or serrated knives here... spydies/bms/buck/whatever. As well as the fact that i'm able to order many folders from the states/internet. hope nothing really comes out of this...WTF is wrong with this country.

I wouldn't get too excited about this guys. Many/most of my shipments are opened by customs and I've yet to get <u>anything</u> confiscated. This includes the last order I got that was opened that had Kershaw Random Tasks in it.
Mind you, remember what happened to the "push knife"
