Sent my first knives to Nate (our own norcalblacktail) and received them back today. As many already know, he is doing some very fine mod work these days.
Below is an S5LE he worked over for me. He first removed the Res-C handle, then ground the spine ramp off flush with the spine and radiused (domed) the spine from the handle out to a very nice, sharp point. He also full-convexed the blade to a zero edge. Obviously from the pics, the blade flats are a nice satin and the edge is mirror-finished and blended seamlessly into the primary convex surface. What may appear as imperfections along the edge are just my poor camera work--could not find an angle to show the mirror edge that didnt pick up reflection, but the edge is perfect. He then re-installed the handle which looks and feels like factory new--perfect alignment and nice, snug fit.
Thanks, Nate!
