I was lucky to snag one of Nathan's the machinists Fighters the other day

Nathan's great thread and my buddy Stevens recommendation lead up to these events

Well the knife arrived and I am rather impressed. Its so perfect its almost to perfect for me :)

The knife is very well done

The grinds are perfect the edge is almost a mirror

I am not a Kydex fan and ths will eventually find its way to Pappy for leather but the Kydex sheath is certainly well done and fits well

Mine is the one that had machined flats and the grooved G 10 handle. Sweet

The balance is very good and is achieved not thru a tapered tang but a skelotinized handle

I tried the sheath in two different positions

Cross draw

And upright behind hip

Both very fast to draw in my weak hand position

I like it a lot, very nicely executed grinds as are the blade finishes. Has a  sinister look.
A tapered tang would take it over the top. What are the dimensions?:thumbup:

He posted a hog sticker/large fighter with a machined ironwood handle that really tickled my fancy. It was an interesting finish on the wood.

He seems to be getting a lot of performance out of the steels he uses too, judging by the testing he has shown.

Kevin I too would rather he take the weight be take n with a tapered tang but the effect gives the same feel. I can understand why he does it this way. Nathan I know you can do anything so let's see some tapered tangs :)

The knife does have a nice feel and really has a fine refined tool feel to it

This is a very svelte carry package and screams quality . Almost surgical in nature

The prices are a bargain. I was looking for a tight affordable carry package in a moisture friendly sheath for an upcoming trip to the Amazon and I might of just found it :)

I'm a quality freak and this knife is certainly a quality piece of kit

Nathan makes an awesome knife, I won a drop point hunter from him with Osage Orange scales. This thing cut like a laser and was perfect.

Congrats, ya got a beautiful knife. :)

Very cool, Joe. Agree Kevin's comments on the grinds and finish, really stand out in your pic and look great.

Please post pics after Paul does the skins.

Congrats Joe. It does have such a nice feel doesn't it?

Thanks Greg to you too :)

Post it up

Very good value on a quality piece of kit

I have it on today again

I just want to echo what Joe said about Nathan's knives. Very well thought out, extremely well made, beautiful grinds, and a real bargain. I too would love a tapered tang - first thing I said when I saw the knife - but the skeletonized tang seems to do the trick as the end result is light, quick, and well balanced.

I picked up one of these 6" fighters too last week (the double edged one with carbon fiber scales) but somehow the USPS messed up the shipment (again - sigh!). So while I am waiting, I will post up a new pic of my pig sticker, just for Win Heger who is such a big fan of the custom backgrounds I use for my pics. :p

The top is in A2 and the bottom in 3V. Hope to get an Elmax version and try Nathans heat treat.

His work with Elmax has me very interested. I may ask him to design a bird and trout

Hi Joe!

Great catch there, buddy! And always classy in carrying! ;)

I'm loving my two 8"-ers as well! Nathan does a great job for sure.

And great pair also, Greg - I feel his knives are really turning into some sort of forum-knife here... :)

Best regards,
Alex
