National Knife Day 2018

Who knew there was such a thing? Apparently today, August 24th, is National Knife Day.

In honor of this facetious and completely unnecessary holiday, let's show our favorite completely unnecessary knives that nevertheless give us pleasure. I'll start.

Mine is a Camillus/Fisk collaboration OVB bowie. It's the one with the curly maple handle. I don't have any practical use for it, but that's ok. She brings a maniacal smile to my face everytime I heft it.

I called my former co-driver today, and reminded him that today is National Knife Day, and to celebrate it, he has to put a knife in his pocket today.
He remembered, and is carrying one that I gave him.

I'm still carrying my normal 3, and added a Western L66 on the belt.

These are only 6" blades, but when a peanut could usually get me through any fixed blade is about overkill for my needs

Absolutely no use for this one, but I love both USA Schrades and duck hunting, so had to have this beauty!

I've really no need for a 5", 0.15" bladed knife; it's the complete antithesis of my knife preferences, actually. I don't even have a sheath for it! Haha.

There's just something wonderful about it, though. The handles are gorgeous. The patina is gorgeous. The ergonomics are even fantastic, not that it matters considering I've never used it.

I'll never actually shave with one of these....but I am compelled by them. Completely unnecessary part of my collection but love the razors.
