Remember friends, August 24 or tomorrow, is national knife day AND yours truly, SirSharpSauce's, birthday! Post a pic of your edc/knife or describe what you'll be doing on this special day!

It'll be business as usual for me. No idea who decided that August 24 is National Knife Day, but the "tradition" seems to date back to 2011.

Just for today, I shall carry entirely too many knives. I'm thinking I will go for one on pocket, one in, one IWB in the back, and a necker. Sounds good to me!

I searched for the origin of the holiday , and, I too Xiaolong, found 2011 the earliest reference. Any info from anyone in the know?

Going to the 14th annual party at the Cadillac Ranch, (that's what we call my buddies garage/property, I started this party back in the late 70s, back then it was a three day party that started on Friday nite and ran till Monday night.

When my buddy moved up my way 15 years ago he took it over and reduced it to 1 day, we got multiple bands playing till 2-3 am and although he never reached my 280+ guests he still has a substantial turn out nearly 100 people showed last year.

So for me, I'll be celebrating with beer, food, old friends, music, camping, bonfires and fire works, oh yea and because all my old friends know me so well, I'll be talking up my latest acquisitions, most notably my Sebenza and the other knives one aired since they last came up.

Thats crazy this day only appears to date back to 2011. I guess all traditions/holidays have to start somewhere. Ill be working a little bit today but then off to do whatever life throws at me. Ill try to incorporate some knife use. Maybe even carry an old neglected one.

I'm meeting up with a member from here to go grind on some of our blades. Really cool place here, glad I found you bladeforums!
