A few months ago I was asked to submit a knife for display at the National Knife Museum. Well I am a bit late in getting it to them but I hope it was worth the wait.

Feather Bowie with an 11.5" blade. I like using different parts of the billet in the final project., The s guard is made using the first weld of a feather billet. and the pommel is the final weld just before it is split.

I used some really nice sanbar stag for the handle. It has a unique curve that lays right in the hand very comfortably.

The OAL of this beast is 17.25".

Oh and yes for those who might think they had seen this before, it is very similar to the Mona Lisa knife I made for the Boise Show. Hope you enjoy...

It's a beautiful beast indeed Chuck

If only the Customs people were a bit lenience on import of large knife, surely I have couple of projects for you Chuck!
Too bad for me, now I have to do most projects internally!

Thanks for showing it here Chuck :)

Mohd, long time no talk. Glad you like my submission. It has felt rather funny not working on one of your projects. So customs has cracked down now? Too bad. Just gives you more motivation to make your own. Hope retirement is going well for you.

Take care

Thanks all. Even in Italian, first time for that. It is hard to send this one off. I really like it but then I would have a huge collection if I kept all of em I liked....

A lot to like here. Great overall profile IMO, fine execution on the feather pattern, good looking and well suited guard and butt cap.:thumbup::thumbup:

Very clever using different stages of the billet for all the components. Very cool knife any person or institution would be happy to own and display.

Great looking knife. I think you could of just thrown a piece of firewood on for the handle and noone would notice :D , well for atleast a few minutes.

Oh man, someone found me out..... thanks for all the nice comments. The firewood is a good idea.:)

First word that came to mind....WOW!

I am sure that will be the response at the museum as well

Nice contrast on the steel, and the pattern too. Artwork and perfection in steel:thumbup:

Fantastic piece. Your first photo just went into my 2013 Bowies of the Year folder.
Wonderful from point to pommel.

Thanks for the kind comments. It was fun yet frustrating.. Now onto the next project. Got to get caught up bofore Christmas.
